Crayono ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our website and services (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide
- Account information: Email address and name provided during registration via Clerk (our authentication provider).
- Prompts & uploads: Text prompts you submit and images you upload to generate coloring pages.
- Generated content: AI-generated coloring page images created through the Service.
- Support communications: Messages you send us via email or support channels.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: Pages visited, features used, generation history, and credit transactions.
- Device information: Browser type, operating system, and screen resolution (collected via Cloudflare analytics — no cookies, no personal tracking).
Information we do NOT collect
- We do not collect or store credit card numbers or payment details. All payment processing is handled entirely by Polar, our payment processor.
- We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising trackers.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including generating coloring pages from your prompts
- To manage your account, credits, and subscription
- To display public (non-private) Generated Content in the community gallery
- To enforce our Terms of Service and content policies
- To respond to DMCA notices, support requests, and legal obligations
- To improve the Service and fix bugs (using aggregated, anonymized data)
- To send transactional emails (account creation, subscription changes) — we do not send marketing emails without your consent
3. How We Store Your Data
- Account data & credit history: Stored in Cloudflare D1 (SQLite database hosted on Cloudflare's global network).
- Generated images: Stored in Cloudflare R2 (object storage). Images are associated with your user ID.
- Uploaded images: Processed in memory to generate coloring pages. Uploaded images are not permanently stored after processing is complete.
All data is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We do not operate our own servers.
4. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Generated images are retained until you delete them or your account is terminated.
- Credit transaction history is retained for accounting and dispute resolution purposes.
- Upon account deletion, your personal data and generated images are deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate:

Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party.
6. AI Processing
Your text prompts and uploaded images are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI to generate coloring pages. This processing happens on Cloudflare's infrastructure. We do not send your data to any other AI provider. Prompts and generated outputs may be temporarily logged for error debugging but are not used to train AI models.
7. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Users aged 13–17 may use the Service with parental consent.
8. Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track individual users across sites. We do not use Google Analytics or any advertising-based analytics platform.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Objection: Object to certain types of processing
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@crayono.app. We will respond within 30 days.
You can also delete your generated images at any time from your gallery, and request full account deletion through your account settings or by contacting us.
10. International Data Transfers
Your data is processed on Cloudflare's global network, which may include servers outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to Cloudflare's infrastructure. Cloudflare maintains appropriate data protection safeguards.
11. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), access controls, and secure authentication via Clerk. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Quebec & Canadian Privacy Law
We comply with Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Our designated privacy officer can be reached at privacy@crayono.app.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, for significant changes, by posting a notice on the Service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
